25 years ago I started collecting shoes. I love the craft in handmade shoes - they're little wearable works of art. I've acquired some amazing pairs by scouring designer discount stores and stock/sample sales; even posh charity shops!
At work I was renowned for wearing fancy shoes every day, so during COVID lockdown I was thoroughly uninspired at home in my slippers. And so I took a daily delve into the shoe cupboard for a bit of creative inspiration. As lockdown wore on I started styling more extravagant sets for my daily photoshoot... 4 months later I ended up with an entire portfolio of my shoe obsession in photographic form.
All the backgrounds for my Lockdown SHOEniverse are things I found around the house. These images were all shot on my phone, sometimes with a selfie stick, but mostly in contorted, inelegant positions - and mostly while still wearing pyjamas!
I hope you enjoy this tour of my outrageous footwear collection / lockdown isolation therapy.
Before you criticise somebody, walk a mile in their shoes.
That way, when you do criticise them, you're a mile away.
And you have their shoes.
